Proof of Vaccination Required at Town Facilities Starting September 22, 2021

Posted On Friday September 17, 2021

As of September 22, 2021, in compliance with provincial law, patrons may only enter Town of Kingsville facilities upon providing identification and proof of COVID-19 vaccination (two doses plus 14 days).

In keeping with the provincial mandate to mitigate COVID-19 outbreaks in Ontario, proof of vaccination will now be required at the Kingsville Arena, Grovedale Arts & Culture Centre, Ridgeview Park Pavilion, Lakeside Park Pavilion, Unico Community Centre, and Carnegie Arts & Visitor Centre.

Vaccination requirements for visitors at Town Facilities:

  • All adults and youth 12 years of age and over must provide proof of vaccination.
  • Children under 12 are exempt.
  • Individuals under 18 can enter the Arena without proof of vaccination only if they are actively engaging in an organized sport or activity. Spectators (including parents, family and friends) who are 12 years of age and over must provide proof of vaccination. Effective October 1, 2021, the Windsor Essex County Health Unit has removed this provincial exemption for 12-17 year old participants and proof of vaccination will be required for anyone 12 and over.
  • Until October 13, 2021, for wedding and funeral receptions, patrons may enter facilities if they can show results of a negative antigen test administered within 48 hours of the wedding or funeral reception.

Visitors should arrive at Town Facilities early to avoid unnecessary delays and parents/guardians should come prepared to present identification on behalf of their children as proof of age.

The Town asks everyone to be patient as we work through this together. The Town is creating a process to streamline entry and will have signage throughout the facilities to help visitors and user-groups navigate.

Town of Kingsville Chief Administrative Officer, John Norton, said, “We are sensitive to the fact that some people do not support these provincial rules. We ask you to please be kind remembering our staff are doing their best to comply with provincial law while delivering services to the community.”

Regardless of age or vaccination status, any visitor entering the Town’s facilities must pass Kingsville’s COVID-19 screening checklist, wear a mask, use hand sanitizer, and practice social distance protocols.
