NOTICE TO RESIDENTS WINTER CONTROL SERVICES

Posted On Monday November 26, 2018

The Town of Kingsville maintains over 250 km of municipal roads, 35 km of sidewalk, and 12 municipal parking lots.  Plowing roads, sidewalks, and parking lots can be extremely difficult, and to receive the best possible service, residents are reminded that the Town of Kingsville has winter control policies.

  • Town of Kingsville Traffic By-Law #21-2005: from November 15, 2017 to April 15, 2018 parking on residential streets is prohibited between the hours of 12:00 am and 6:00 am and carries a fine of $75.00.
  • It is also recommended that during the day vehicles be kept off the road.  If there are vehicles on the road that impair our ability to ensure safe and drivable streets, they may be towed at the owner’s expense.

  • Please remove all portable items, including basketball nets, from the roadways and sidewalks to facilitate snow removal and prevent any damage from occurring. If objects severely affect our ability to maintain the roadway they may be removed and brought to the Public Works Garage.

  • Essex County Highways maintains all County Roads including Division Rd N, Heritage Rd, Seacliff Dr, Concession 4, Concession 9 E, and Belle River Rd.

According to Provincial Standards, during a snow event priority must be given to roadways with higher levels of traffic. This means that residential streets will be maintained after the main roads have been cleared. All available staff and equipment will be dispatched as soon as possible to help ensure the safety of drivers travelling on our roadways.

Non-emergency service requests may be submitted through KingsvilleWorks by email at kingsvilleworks@kingsville.ca, or by calling the Town offices at 519-733-2305.

We appreciate your patience and co-operation during these winter months.
