NOTICE OF SANITARY SEWAGE CAPACITY TESTING
COTTAM, ONTARIO

April 1st, 2019

Attention: Property Owner or Resident

The Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA), on behalf of the Town of Kingsville, will be conducting testing of sanitary sewage capacity within the Cottam community on April 16th, 2019. The testing is scheduled to commence at 6pm and will last for several hours.

This test will involve the temporary shutdown of sewage pumps at the Cottam lagoon facility. The purpose of the planned shutdown is to simulate the scenario of bypassing the pump station during future construction upgrades of the Cottam lagoon facility.

During this test period, the sewage level in the Cottam community collection system will rise, however this level will be monitored continuously by OCWA. This testing is not expected to cause any sewage flooding or surcharging in the basement of homes or properties that are connected to the Cottam sanitary collection service. Nevertheless, should you experience any issues during the test period with your sanitary sewer service, please contact OCWA for assistance. The following phone number has been established as a temporary contact number for OCWA during the testing period:

(519) 818-7111

Should you have any questions or concerns with this testing prior to April 16th, please contact Kingsville Municipal Services or email your concerns to tdelgreco@kingsville.ca.
Thank you,
