History of Mettawas
Mettawas Park is on the North Shore of Lake Erie and plays a great role in Kingsville's history. When Hiram Walker and Sons owned much of the property in 1891, a grand hotel called the Mettawas Hotel stood along the shore. The hotel is long gone, but the name lives on.
